Anyone else in the south get a frame replacement notice?

I just got a letter in the mail from Toyota yesterday regarding the frame replacement program for frames that are experiencing rust perforation. I thought this program was only a thing in the rust belt states. I live in Dallas, one of the last places on earth you'll find a new rusted out vehicle. What is this snow, salt, and rust you speak of? lol. Just thought it was kind of strange and wanted to see if any other southerners got this notice.

 

Is your frame compromised?, how does it look like under ?, maybe some pictures?

yeah i got the letter. I'm north of DFW.

 

No my frame still looks brand new. I think it was just a voluntary thing from Toyota.

 

It’s not for a replacement. It’s for a coating to protect the frame. If you don’t get the spray done then you’re not eligible past factory warranty on the frame

 

My notice didn't say anything about a coating. It was talking about a full on replacement.

 

I'm in Hawai'i and I got one. Just keep it with your owners manual in case you need it later on down the road.

 

Is there a cash out option? I’d happily take the cost of a frame replacement in cash to agree to never file suit against them.

 

Nothing about coating in this letter. They will replace the frame and any parts that are involved in the process. 12 years from the date of first use with no mileage limitations.

Anyone get that for 2018+? I am hit all rust with rust reformer paint, but these it is hard to keep up with here.

 

I got one last week in South Carolina. I have a 2012 ACSB.

 

I got one (lower Alabama). But, I had sold the 2016 TRD (private sale) that the notice covered and bought a 2020 TRD OR. Never saw any rust, etc. on the 2016 but I passed the notification from Toyota on to the new owner. He didn't seem to give a sh!t. I wish I would get one for "coating" as stated in Post #7.
