It was a joke because I respect how clean you keep your truck. Not going to apologize for just trying to have a little fun but it won't happen again

Just finished what was supposed to be a quick task. Removing the fender flares, sanding them down, painting them matte trim black, and reinstalling. Started at 10am, finished 10 hours later. I’m sure I’ll get the hang of automotive work eventually.

Looks great. I’ve been thinking of tearing my interior totally apart to clean it. Two winters in Wisconsin and damn if there isn’t salt in every nook and cranny in my truck.

I have been looking on ebay for some new headlights. How are these holding up?

I actually have a set of retrofits already. However, they are faded and both headlights fog up when raining. I have been trying to find someone to rebuild/get info about remedying the issue.

can't the fading be fixed with a lens restoration and polish
and the fogging fixed by hiding some backs of desiccant inside the back of them

To properly prevent those retrofit headlights from fogging is to bake them open and re-seal them

Today I remodeled and updated a set of RCI skids I picked up. They are the first set RCI made for the 2nd gens and they have updated their tech since then, so I did a little update fabrication. I made a spacer bar that goes between the mid and the tcase skids to even stuff out because originally the cross member caused the tcase skid to run slanted and stick down in the back. Then I had to bend the front skid and drill new holes for the front mounting points because originally RCI designed the skid to mount to OE skid plate reinforcement brackets! I forgot to take pictures of the bending process, but I had to get pretty creative. I used 2×4's, my floor jack, and the weight of the vehicle. Way better now!

4 coats of adhesive primer, 5 coats of matte black.

Next silver trim piece's on the list to die...

radio bezel and the gauge trim rings.

Soon the silver trim nightmare will be over

Thanks for all the insight
