It's a trail that runs between Fly Gap Rd and Morgan Mountain Rd in the Present Hill district. That mud pit is a bummer.

I think I know where you're talking about from looking at the forest map. I've traveled the pleasant Hill and Boston mountain districts quite a bit. I don't think I've been down that trail though

That sucks you got bogged. Glad you got out without having to stay the night there! You're not standing up in that picture are you??

You might check these out: https://www.amazon.com/X-BULL-Recov...leA&hsa_cr_id=8626422330601&ref_=sb_s_sparkle

I've got a couple pairs and am glad I have them. Now, I've only used them to get a 2wd colorado and my lawnmower unstuck, but they're pretty cheap to get as an extra thing to have in your back pocket.

No I kneeled down I had a shovel under the front trying to dig out some of the mud that my front end was high centered on. It was a little over knee dip though. I've debated on getting a winch for awhile but been traveling the Ozark National Forest for a few years and never got stuck I usually try to avoid the mud. Im definitely gonna get a set of those traction boards though didn't know they were that cheap

Yup we drove right by that road on the way out yesterday. Those logging trails can a go to chit fast. You saw them logging up the hill from you, that big equipment makes big gumbo ruts fast, which looks like what you were stuck. Glad it worked out.

Yeah they were definitely deep. I tried to ease in there to get a feel of how deep it was but my front just sunk to the frame. We were just trying to see a different part of the big Piney river. We are headed out again tomorrow morning to do some more exploring in that area. Can I take 1312c by bayou bluff up to Smyrna rd in my stock tacoma?

I doubt it. That’s the road that starts by crossing middle fork Illinois Bayou off middle fork road? That crossing is usually deep. Dave and I have camped on that road and we’ve had that on our wanna do list for awhile, so if you make it through let us know. Called Bohannon on the map, I think, and I think it’s a 4 wheeler trail that stays close to river so will be super muddy.

That's a bummer I like traveling those roads that run along the rivers. I will probably still go check it out though. If anyone has a free day tomorrow me and the family would enjoy the company

I’m sure you’ve driven 1205 that runs next to falling water creek to Richland Campground? Great water fall on that road and super scenic. Also if you go to very end of middle fork road it has a classic hiking trail that goes into Penbrook Hollow and has a great overlook. Pretty remote in there. Cool crossing on Lindsay Road too on east fork Illinois Bayou. Blue Hole trail is right in there too. It’s a fun trail but prolly need a buddy or a winch to be safe.
