I have oil leaking near my rear diff and I can’t quite tell exactly where it’s coming from. When it’s parked on a driveway, the oil leaks down underneath the gas tank cover and drips down. It looks like oil is getting everywhere, even up towards the bottom of the bed. Not much oil gets on the ground when it’s parked, but I do notice a good amount on parts under my truck. Any suggestions on where I can target the leak?

How far down is the diff oil? That almost looks like a gas leak.

I thought it was that at first. But it’s for sure oil. The majority of the oil leak seems to be on the driver side in between the spare tire and gas tank. It’s too sticky to be gas, and my brake fluid is still normal level. I have oil in my differential as well. I just pressure washed off all the excess oil so I’m gonna drive a round a bit and then check to see exactly where it’s coming from.

Gotta be ur pinion seal or your blowing oil out the breather.

2006. Has the rear diff oil ever been changed? If not... pinion bearings, lead to failed pinion seal... your ring and pinion are probably gone too.
