remote oil filter kit

Is there a good remote oil filter kit that would fit 3.4 on a 2004 i see the ones sold at JEGS and SUMMIT just wondering if there was a better one geared more towards tacomas

Oil filter relocator kits are pretty much universal. Never seen an application specific for a Tacoma.

If you want a "better" kit spend money on an Amsoil dual filter setup or the CNC machined stuff. Generally you get what you pay for.

My truck came with one installed. I just redid mine after running it for 4 years with another mount & changed all the hoses out for trans cooler hoses. Never had a problem with mine & I couldn't be happier with the conveinence, actually I have no idea what it feels like to change the oil filter in the stock location & don't want to.

When I got the truck:

 

looks cool if you have a little money laying around, but i just the change my oil on my DC for the first time yesterday and i didn't think it was bad at all, i just turn my steering wheel all the way to the left and it expose enough space for me to reach my hand to get to the oil filter, although it does spill onto the skid plate and drips out the back of the skid plate.

 

Just make sure the hoses and the fittings are all big enough, some fittings reestrict flow. Years ago as a Marine mechanic our shop lost 3 3.4L engines in one boat because the techs didn't notice that the new lines they installed had restrictive fittings. Those lines were supposed to be 5/8". Not hard to do, just need to be aware that you need to do it!

 

Not totally sure if the filter is in the same place on a 3.4L, but on my 2.7 it wasn't a big deal. I just decided to take the tire off so I could reach it more easily. Yeah, some of the oil does spill into the skid plate.

 

thanks guy's the amsoil kit is nice i use alot of there products,the 3.4 isn't as bad as my 2000 cavilier just wanted some extra filter capacity and to make it a little eaiser to get to

^^^man those cavilier, i use to work at jiffy lube and when one of those caviler came in, GOD DAM!!! you have to have like rubber band arms or something, you literately have to get your arm into an S to get to the oil filter
