I'm actually down to 2 jobs to do and can have them both done today, if I want too. Getting scarce around here.

Rona slow down, customers aren't ordering stuff. My buddy at powdercoat said he's going to have to let some people go this week. One of our customers is hiring, they got into making mask. Hiring all 3 shifts for 6 days a week with the option to work Sundays.

I ended up with a few weeks paid time off from work. I’ve just been working on projects around the house and shop. I should be working on my truck or booking jobs but I felt like taking a short break from working on Tacoma’s. On Sunday the scrap metal guy stopped by the shop to pick up scrap and I rescued this deathtrap out of the bed of his truck.

It had some pretty sweet welds on it. Paid $100 for it.

I moved to a new neighborhood end of last year and everyone is cruising the streets on a mini bike, go kart, pit bike, dirt bike, RZR, ect. So I figured I could use a mini bike to represent on. Started building a frame yesterday. So far I’m 8 hours into it. Trying to keep everything simple. Only thing I plan on buying for it is a set of grips and I ordered a chain. I hope to be riding it by this weekend.

I think I have some spare grips for 7/8 bars in the garage. I can double check but if I find them, they’re yours.

It sucks the owner of the company I work for is taking advantage of the Bat Flu to excuse poor management to get Federal money.I have the paperwork showing we are a DOD vendor we did not need to shut down.

Everyone in the Shop is laid off yet still doing work go figure .

I get asked to do things off the books I do it all gratis I don`t need any looking at things real close .

    Rant over I feel better.

If not for my Hips and Knees being worn out I could be working quite a few places some days after work the walk from the truck inside is quite painful.

Ha!! Yes! That’s me. Once I realized this it had been a game changer. I usually drink cans, but it’s definitely handy to always have a bottle opener on your truck at all times.

lol. I had to make sure I prefaced the pics.

Thanks dude. I think I actually found a set in my mountain bike stuff. I need to find some
7/8” tubing. I’m building the bike only using scrap stuff I won’t use on other peoples builds, with the exception of the plate work.

    thanks Ryan

I thought had an extra set from my Yamaha build and they use 7/8. The Harley uses 1” tube for the bars.
Let me know when it’s done and I’ll ride my bike up to you.

Nothing crazy, but it felt good to drag the stuff out and help my buddy out, these tubes are on the front of a scag for a thatcher, he let some guy use it last year and basically sank the machine into the woods and used the old bars that were on here to pull it out. Needless to say the hack work before didn’t hold up, hopefully these do the trick for a while. This was done with my Lincoln 135 btw. I’d like some feedback good n bad. It’s been a while since I’ve been given the opportunity to burn some metal....

If that don’t hold it, nothing will. Looks good

Not so much for you but in case someone does that in a before interview weld test at times it could be enough to knock you out of the running

For the most big weave beads like that are a No No but for your own projects no big deal

Stringer beads up both sides till a final stringer bead completes the weld.

Drummed into my head going through welding school .

And also.. first part of that I should have ground a bigger notch into it before running the bead into it because the metal was cold and I could tell it’s sitting on top a lot more than I wanted it to, but for his purpose I figured he’d be fine. If it was at my old job I’d have ground down and done it again...
