Hello everyone. I have a 2019 Tacoma sport and I bought the 16 inch TRD pro wheels. I have a 2.5 king suspension lift on the truck. I am trying to find out what the biggest tire I can run without rubbing. I do not want to trim and am trying to go with a taller tire. Also am looking for TOYO tire like the one below. Let me know! Thanks :)

Are you looking for suggestions? Or people to tell you what to do?

If you want suggestions, use the search bar. Type "largest tire" in there.

Tell you what to do? 265/75/16... done

An IFS ride height lift doesn’t really allow one to run larger tires unless one drives very carefully, because the tire still needs to fit into the same wheel well. The adjective “larger” is a bit ambiguous in this context, because both tire diameter and width matter. If diameter is more important to you than width, one tire size that is claimed by many to fit without modification is 255/85r16 or equivalent in r17. It is referred to as a “tall skinny”, and there is a long thread on the subject.

265/75/16 is the safest bet for no rubbing/trimming

285/75/16 Will probably look better, but you can count on needing to trim something somewhere along the line.

if trimming/cutting is out of the question for you, it would be best to steer clear of wider than 265 tires. That being said though, an aggressive 265/75/16 looks great on these trucks w/ a 2.5" lift

    Lots, straight from the factory.
    I have a 2” lift and I’m running the K02’s in a 265/75/16. No issues at all.

I have 2.5" in front, 1.5" in rear for 23" fender to hub all four corners. I run 275/70/17 Falken Wildpeaks (32.4"). Had to remove front mudflaps and was good to go.

Also, I have SPC UCAs which were adjusted for max clearance.

I've got 2.5 Kings and run 285/70R17 (eq to 285/75R16) with zero rubbing and no cutting (well, I guess I'm running the SSO high clearance bumper so my front bumper plastic is trimmed). I do also have SPC adjustable UCA and have maxed out my lower control arms. As many others have said, you need to consider the width of the tire as well AND the offset of the rim you are planning to run.

Here you go, OP. This is why I asked if you wanted suggestions or someone to tell you what to do. If you did some research, you'd see there isn't one cut and dry answer. There's a shit ton of variables and on top of that, no two trucks are made the same. What might work for one person, is no guarantee for the next guy. 265/75/16 is the safest bet.

Amen to that. Not to mention “Maxing” out anything to fit tires does nothing but hurt offroad performance

Well the shock are fine but you'll also need UCAs and something to help in the back. Easy way is AAL. IMO I would just go for a full leaf pack. If I'm not mistaken those wheels offset is +4mm. OFFSET IS VERY IMPORTANT! I like tacos with a bit bigger tires when they have lifts. So I would go 285 not 265. Not knocking the 265 bois but with a lift it just looks little weird to me. Keep in mind if you go 285 you WILL be trimming. Which mainly means fender liner and that's bout it. You will rub on you cab mount (most likely in reverse at full lock cause that's how everyone rubs) I disagree bout getting a CMC unless you are actually going to be doing some in depth off roading. Now if your just doing some trails and dirt road like me, (work and for fun) than you'll be fine. I plan on getting the 2.5 kings as well and a Dakar leaf pack, with SPC UACs. Gonna get 285/75/16 Ko2s (oh god here comes the hate) Some people will say that for UACs you should go with Total Chaos but I've heard you can have less fitment issues when using SPC but I could be wrong. Also take in a fact that if you ever add a bumper as well cause depending on the weight of said bumper you could get lowered and have new fitment issues.

Ok... lots to unpack here... and hope you can help me pair it down?

I have a '17 MT Pro (with its extra stock lift), CMC is complete - Insain fab cut it back for me in early '19. I have milked the crappy stock tires for all I could get (~30k miles) and need to buy new tires ASAP. Looking at 285/75/16s now. Like the look (agree with you!), want the wider stance and stability too (I load this truck up with toys ALOT) - I drive it everywhere in ALL conditions, and have

Will I need to do more mods to make sure I don't hit my UCAs, etc? Will I need to pick up spacers (or?) to accommodate the offset? I've never had to do any of this before - so treat me like the NEWB I am... but be gentle!

If you're going to run 285s with the stock Tacoma wheels you'll need spacers or new wheels. Most of the stock wheels are +25 or +30 offset and you need somewhere in the range of 0 to -8 offset to clear the upper control arms. A 1.25" spacer will give you a -2 offset on a stock wheel with +30 offset.

I dont really understand what you mean by extra stock lift. Like are you just 1inch higher than stock tacos or?...

Edit: Actually never mind realized you have a trd pro and tbh I'm dont know how much the trd pros really differ from the normal tacos like my O.R.

Now I could be wrong but you might have to upgrade suspension and get lifted slight but I have no idea. I would definitely try to find multiple shops and ask them what you would need to do. Cause I dont know really how much different the pros are then the normal tacos
