What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

Yikes, looks like a combination of, not sand blasted enough, or not heat treated long enough. Everything I've powdercoated myself looks new still. Besides my girlfriends lug nuts, but that's for obvious reasons.

 

Must be some joke to be had about powder coating your girlfriends lugnuts in there somewhere

I took them a newly made clean steel bumper. Don’t know what they did or didn’t do. Except fuck it up.

Not really a joke, but right after I powdercoated them, she got new tires, had a cab mount chop done, and a lift put on. Each time we had to take the tires off, and the lug nuts got slightly marked up

 

I was just being a smart ass. My powder coated lug nuts from SCS are rusted to hell. God I hate the Midwest.

 

In all your frustration, I hope you remember to take that rag out of your exhaust manifold...

did you have a hard time with that one bolt closest to the front of the truck too? After about an hour of trying to get the nut on the bolt hindsight kicked in and told me I should have started with that one and not have saved if for last.

 

Started my CB radio install. Got the fire stick all mounted and pre wired.

Oh, and I bought this ‘84 4Runner at auction!

Super easy install. You just have to pull the door sills and the quarter panel. No tools required. The old stripping just pulls out. There are two paint dots on the weather stripping that correspond to two bumps in the metal on the door frame (rear top and front top of the door frame on the access cab). Start with either one lined up, press it in. I found it helps holding the tail out as you press in an inch at a time. Make sure it seats fully before moving on.

the first side took me 20 minutes as I figured it out, the next side took 5 - 10 minutes.

 

Don't forget to tune your swr!
