So, I'm pretty fed up with entune and I am currently looking to put an aftermarket head unit into my 2019 TRD Sport (Cav Blue). I want to keep it looking as stock as possible and I want to maintain all functions of the stock radio. I know I need to get a Maestro RR and I will lose the navigation information on the dash screen. I was wondering if anyone has any aftermarket head units that worked well/looked good in their truck. Pictures would be awesome!!

Also, I want to thank everyone in this community. I got my truck in October after having a 2002 Saab, which I loved, but it was time for a change. I thought that the Saab community was great, but Tacoma people are the best and this forum has been unbelievably helpful starting out with my first truck/Tacoma!!

Nice radio, it does everything I need, but with all aftermarket radios it's so confusing. What harness do you need for the steering controls, how do you set up XM radio with the truck antenna, what about the USB port, etc...

There is a link to spend $200 on the harnesses to make it all work. You have to add a satellite tuner if you want that. Call Crutchfeild. They have good people with good info that can help. A million times better than the nerd herd at Best Buy.

I highly recommend crutchfield for any and all car audio.
Depending on what your looking for I like Kenwood more specifically their Exelon line for sound quality, features and ease of use.
    I also really like Pioneer.
If looking for in dash nav go kenwood as they use Garmin for their built in Gps.

I put a Sony XAV-AX5000 into my 2010 taco. It has worked amazingly for me, and has android auto/ apple carplay for most of your navigational needs. I got it off crutchfield, and would recommend no other on that front. I called them like 5 times during install (also put new front subs and tweeters in) and they answered quick and helped me out each time.

I want to do the same but add 2 amps, 2 front focals, 2 rear Morels, and a subwoofer.. all from my previous vehicle.
The only way I was told to preserve the clarity I had, was to install a sound processor to work the amps correctly. #1 amp powers the subwoofer, #2 amp powers the 4 other speakers with front and back adjustment capability.
I'm considering doing this first and if the sound is not great, I'll swap the deck.
Just worried about losing functionalities of the oem deck.

I actually swapped the deck before doing the speakers, so was able to tell the difference with the OEM speakers. Albiet the drivers side one was blown out (excuse to upgrade :bananadance:) but there was definitely a noticable improvement in sound with the new head unit. An amp will probably do somewhat the same thing soundwise but speaking for android auto, it would be rough going to a vehicle without that now.

I just did a very similar upgrade to my 2020 Tacoma. In order for your truck to sound good like you want it to sound a dsp has to be installed. I used the JL Audio Fix 86, went with Memphis audio component sets front and rear, a six channel JL Audio amp for the highs. As far as the sub I used a JL Audio 10W7 with a 1500 watt DD Audio mono amp. This truck rocks its butt off for a small daily driver system. If you have any issues or questions about how to move forward I'd be glad to help with what I can.
