I can only find a very old tread regarding tonneau cover problems, but not really this specific problem.

I just got the new Taco a few days ago and the tonneau cover does not clamp down as tightly as the front two panels and yes, the second click is engaged.

    see pics:
    1. first panel is tight.
    2. second panel, all good.
    3. third panel angles up slightly towards the back.
    4. Shows entire profile (not sure if the angled third panel is perceivable in photo).
    5. Drivers (release handle) side.
    6. Passenger side (even worse).
    7. shows where it should be.
    8. Pin (any way to adjust down 1/4"?)
    9. Latch (any way to adjust closer to the underside of cover 1/4"?)

Sorry to be so long winded and with so many visual aids. Searched for a long time and found nothing on the interweb and the dealership is no help. "That's just the way they are." was the service dept. quote.

of course the problem is that it's creating is a large amount of dust and water is getting in, but only in that area and only because of this problem. Everything else is as tight as a drum.

    I would really appreciate any help or advice anyone has to offer.20200412_184102.jpg 20200412_184108.jpg 20200412_184113.jpg 20200412_184055.jpg 20200412_184113.jpg 20200412_184132.jpg 20200412_184121.jpg 20200412_184154.jpg

Pretty common from what I have seen, don't expect a watertight seal either. They leak.

You can pull plates out of them to adjust the latch some and make sure you get the second click when locking them down. I will see if I can find that thread about adjusting the plates. I did that with mine.

Give a nice firm press over that back latch (on both sides) and it will engage a second and more secure "click".

Ive found removing the plate on the first panel actually made the seal worst. I ended leaving the plate on the first and taking out the two and three. Have you tried putting the plate on the first back on? Even with the plate on the first the second click is still there.

When you say first panel do you mean closest to the cab or tailgate?

Closes to the tailgate. On the guide it’ll mention to remove it.
