AC Blinking. Compressor ordered

Should I not drive my truck until I fix this up? I'm supposed to go about an hour north next week.

 

If you're worried about accidentally engaging the compressor clutch with the A/C button or spinning the temp control full CCW, just unplug the compressor and tie wrap the cable somewhere safe. The flashing will still occur but that just means whatever's in charge of monitoring compressor speed vs engine RPMs is doing its job. I've been running my truck this way for almost a year with no issues whatsoever. If someone else says it's a bad idea, listen to that person, not me, because all I'm telling you is how I got around the problem. (I can't defend its validity from a systems perspective.)

 

It will be fine you can unplug it or pull the relay.
The defrost also activates the compressor using the dryer part of it.
