I want to be able to lock and unlock my tailgate with my key fob automatically. What do y’all recommend other than pop lock.

Stock AF. My 68 Bronco and 2000 2.5RS get the mods.
Get the parts for the 2020's factory option, I love it. Should be readily available aftermarket though I'm not sure if it requires coding or anything. I kind of expect not, given the janky way some things like my puddle lights are wired in.

I'm interested in doing this as well, but curious as to how it may impact the warranty. I think the safest option may be for me to have the dealer install it so it doesn't give them a reason to void the warranty down the road. Anyone have any thoughts on that? Otherwise, I've been so close to just ordering the OEM version and installing it myself.

That's in the first link in my post, if you have a short bed truck. The long bed is a different part number.

Just order the OEM kit and install it yourself. What do you think could possibly go wrong that would relate to a warranty issue? It's literally plug and play, and designed by Toyota.

Well, it's not that I necessarily think something will go wrong. More along the lines of if I take it in for a completely unrelated reason is this something Toyota would give me shit about since it wasn't dealer installed.

That said, you're probably right. I'll just order it and do it myself. Thanks!
