    Funny story... In December I won a 2020 Lexus RX 350 at a casino in Atlantic City (yes, people really win those giveaways). Since it didn’t have a towing package we had an aftermarket trailer hitch put on. Couldn’t get the lights to work and after three trips to the Lexus dealer they determined that it wasn’t going to work. Looked across the parking lot and saw a new 2020 Toyota Tacoma TRD Off-road (with towing package) at the Toyota dealership. Walked over and in about an hour made the trade. We are now the proud owners of a Quicksand TRD Off-road truck.

    Not necessarily. The RX is technically a used vehicle. And the dealership would have to take it in at wholesale so they could retail it.

    Agreed, a 2019 Lexus RX 350 with about 1000 miles on it (no 2020 data available on kbb) is worth about $36k trade in value. So an even swap for a new Tacoma TRD offroad would be a pretty even trade. Sure, could have sold it private party for $40k but that might be a hard sell right now with everything going on.

    Trade was even up. Had 7000 miles on the Lexus. (We traveled a lot and had to drive it back to Michigan from Atlantic City) The Lexus was nice, but not loaded.
