So I’ve had morimoto xb headlights (housings) for about 6 months. Ever since the instal I’ve had radio static. I contacted theretrofitsource about it and they have promised a fix from the manufacturer but so far nothing. I’ve tried ferrite chokes, disconnecting and reconnection each light one at a time, still get static on some channels. The send me service ticket updates about every 5 days and still say no fix is available but assure me one will come. I mentioned in my last email about a “partial refund” and I’d close the ticket and go away.
To my surprise, someone emailed back and said a partial refund is a possibility. How much would u guys ask for? I love the lights just hate the static. I paid $970 for the lights with free fogs on Black Friday 2019.

Sell them for $800 on here with a disclaimer they may cause radio static. I never listed to the radio and wouldn’t care.. others the same if they could get a deal.
Buy OEM 2020’s or look into alternatives (alpharex, retrofit, etc)

Matt Kossoff has made you a promise “make every customer happy no exceptions” I would hold him to that very standard...because you did not receive the benefit of your bargain and only you can decide what that static is worth according to his promise. I would send them back and call it a day.

Do you like the lights? If so just have them send you a new set to swap out. Tons of people out there with these lights and no static so it’s either an isolated issue with that set of lights or something going on with your truck.

I totally get electrical issues with the headlight circuit on these trucks...

    Lots, straight from the factory.
I rarely, if ever listen to the radio. It’s like listening to an 8 track or CD’s. Who cares. Enjoy the lights. Fuckol the radio and ask for a refund that covers an iPod.

I vote that you ask for an exchange. Surprisingly I had the same issue with a dashcam of all things. After installing it I immediately noticed that the radio constantly switched between HD and analog signals, as if I were on the very outskirts of town right before you lose signal entirely. Replacing the camera solved it instantly. Sometimes a manufacturing defect results in unshielded RF interference. Its rare, but it happens.

If after 6 months you’re still stressing over the issue, I’d sell them and buy something else. A couple hundred bucks isn’t going to make it any more tolerable for you or buy any piece of mind.

send them back and get a full refund, they are just trying to buy you off with a partial refund if you use the radio a lot the LEDs when on will always cause static no matter what get a full refund.

A primary reason I tend to keep my Tacomas stock. Nothing wrong with the headlights that come from the factory.

You are def in the minority here. The truck is a 2019 with 5,000 miles stock radio.

The alpha Rex look too much like the 2020 stock ones and I don’t dig the logo.

I swapped in some 2020 TRD LED's and couldn't be happier. The stock halogens are terrible.

I'd take a good sounding radio or sound system over LED lights any day of the week.

That is why I just put a decent set of HID's in the OE housing and LED fog light bulbs. Great output and no issues.

    Terrible in what way?
I don't believe if terrible Toyota would have used them nor would they have been allowed to use them.
