    Nice. What year?
She had a Mace, not a hammer.
Is the men's locker room one where you just leave your lunch box and put on your lab coat, or is it a gym-type where you old dudes get naked and can shower?

If it's the first one, I wouldn't have a problem. If it was the second option, I would be a little uncomfortable but would honestly try to sneak a peek. (Unless (s)he's butt ugly :anonymous:)
    Number 2 or number 3?

This is exactly why I identify as a block of wood. Nobody gets offended by a block of wood and if they do, they are the freak, not me.

Yeah, accommodation for the first person (he /she).
For the guy who complained...tough shit.
Keep it up and get fired.
That's the problem I have with it.

Obviously, we have a hierarchy now of whose feelings matter more.

    Story time. :)

In my previous job before my semi-retirement, I got to see first hand the current mindset of many HR people.
Too often, these are second rate people...I'm sorry but there it is.
Just incredibly dense and at the same time...dictatorial. And oh so PC.
And apologies to anyone here who works in HR.

I was making parts for custom shipping crates at that job.
Normally, it was a matter of programming certain cuts and let the machine do it.
But some jobs required that certain modifications to a piece had to be done on a drill press or table saw.
We're talking hundreds, even thousands of pieces.

Now, I can hardly believe it, but this half-assed outfit didn't have jigs to reduce setup and production time.

I noticed that certain jobs would recur, so on my own initiative, I made jigs for them.
Mind you, that's the word I used.
    Jigs.
A perfectly clear and recognizable word for someone of my generation.
A device to allow precise, repeatable operations to be performed.
    And performed quickly.

So the increase in production comes to the attention of management.
    Attaboy, right?
    No.

Somehow the HR gal heard the word "Jig" and....
....you can see it coming, can't you?

"Oh, you can't call it that, that's racist. "

    I kid you not.

I explained the meaning of the term.
    Unbelievably, she dug in.
I said: "Will it make you feel better if I call them "Fixtures?"
I confess that I said that in my best sarcastic manner.
She was in no doubt that I considered her an asshole.

She spun on her heel and walked away without replying.
Which was probably for the best. :)

[EDIT] She got fired not too long afterwards.
As far as I know, it had nothing to do with our disagreement.
Her replacement was exactly the same.
Do they clone these morons somewhere?
