I just got my first Tacoma (first truck actually), a very stock 2013 Nautical Blue Metallic DC OR and I already have a list of things to do with it. One of them is to replace the chrome grille and bumper. My plan is to buy an OEM painted grille and swap the insert with a TRD Pro insert.

I think I found the right OEM part number 5310004480J0 for the painted grill.

However, it is listed on all the Toyota parts sites as "Dark Blue" for 2012-2015. Since I think the color of dark blue for 2012-13 is different than 2014-15, which blue is this part? Will it match my 2013 Nautical Blue truck?

Welcome to TW, congrats on the truck. You'll never regret buying it.

About the grille. Why not save your self some cash first and use the grille you already have and paint it with some plastidip. This will help you decide if you really want to go that route of buying a whole new extra OEM grille just to match the paint. I'm sure there is a plastidip or a different brand that makes a color close to the one your looking for.

Personally, I think the grille surround would look good black on your truck. It would match the pro grille insert and probably your front bumper down the road.

    Just a thought.

    Have fun building your truck!

Thanks for the suggestions. Saving money would be great after just buying the truck. I have some experience with plastidip. I don't think it will hold up on a grille that takes its share of rocks, etc. I like the look of the trd pro, so going for the color match if I can make it happen.

Understandable, i have had my grille painted with plastidip for years. Only had to redo it once because my OCD kicked in lol. You could always permanently paint as a well..
