There is an empty lot on our north side and a house on the other side of that (basically my next door neightbor), I've lived here 27 years and he and I have never spoken. Or waved. Or nodded.

 

No peeky peek. She works in the freezer so she puts bibs and a coat on over her street clothes, doesn't have to undress.
How appropriate for her.

 

She's tall and thin with very short hair, not unattractive, but not great either. Make sense?
She also looks to be fairly young, I would guess very early 20's.
I'll chat her up next time I see her, it's what I do.

Our neighbors have lived in their house for around 45 years and were one of the first to build on the street and they've never spoken to the neighbor on the other side of us. Makes me feel less bad...or I guess just care less that I haven't done the same.

I totally get it. If someone rings our doorbell we look at each other in disbelief and it takes a minute to figure out how to approach the situation.

 

I know the neighbors to my side, but none of the others. They're both awesome people and we sometimes talk when we're out doing stuff and help each other out. The others I don't care to know, only that they need to stop doing construction at 5am

 

Our neighbors pretty much keep to themselves as well

With the fuckwits I encounter I often wonder how they manage to get across the street without getting hit. The one success that I’ve noticed pretty regularly is the dumbing down of society. People are incapable of thinking or doing anything for themselves.

yep. Another guy on the phone today needed me to walk him through how to get in contact with people who repair things (we can't repair his stuff) and how/where to find model/serial numbers and then how warranty's work. I'm only 26 and I have more sense and problem solving skills than most people I meet.
