Trailer hitch harness 4 wire part number?

I was planning on bolting my trailer hitch plug to the hitch today (instead of zip tied behind the bumper) and noticed the bracket was rusted and crumbling and the plug itself is all corroded. I’ve never used it before but am going to rent a log splitter from Home Depot soon so I need something that’s not going to turn to dust. I was looking for a part number from Toyota but only see the 7 pin connectors and nothing with this factory metal bracket.

So either I’d like the whole harness to replace what’s in this picture or just a new plug and steel bracket and then I’ll splice it together. These wires and gray connector are in fine shape so that might be cheaper.

I do apologize that there is not the sub harness part number. But this is from my 09.

 

Thanks a lot Sparky for the digging, unfortunately I don’t think the sub harness part number is correct. It all seems to point to the full assembly for around $100. I used your part numbers to leap frog to this Lexus part number: 08942-48870-BB. It has one end that’s wrong but the end that matters is right. Still don’t feel like spending $40 for this considering I’d have to cut it apart but looks like this is all there is. I was hoping to find a used one in decent shape for cheap. I might just end up buying generic aftermarket parts to splice in even though I hate that. Aftermarket electrical components are usually pretty bad. Thanks again! We got somewhere!

They offered a 4 pin connector? I had no idea. I've only seen the 7 pin round and the combo 7 and 4 pin connectors on these trucks.

For that, just buy the 4 pin flat and splice it in. Buy some good crimp connectors with shrink tube and sealant inside.

 

It normally would be when it’s new but it is worn off and totally blank. It’s just a plain white tag now. Even if it did have the part number, I believe it would be for the whole assembly. If you search for one of the part numbers Sparky posted above you see that sub harness with the tag that shows the part number and it’s for the whole shebang, not just that sub harness.

 

That’s what I’m going to do but the Toyota bracket is nicely designed. Don’t have much choice though, haha.

 

You could try and see if this part number is good at a local dealer or maybe someone on ebay is selling a complete harness.

 

Looked all over eBay but I could try the dealer. In my experience the dealer’s prices are insane.

 

I'm cheap. I'd use a copper cleaner and maybe a wire brush on the connector, use a wire brush on the metal bracket, paint the bracket, and use dielectric grease on the connector.

I don't think that harness looks too far gone.

 

Use a baking soda paste... Slather it on, rinse, repeat until it doesn't boil as it were any more.

A toothbrush works well scrubbing and will get into the female sockets of the plugs.

 

I’m cheap too so I have actually been in the shop cleaning it up, haha. Yeah I suppose it could be saved but I can’t remove the bracket for painting without breaking it. Also I took off the corrugated split loom and there’s already a few splices and one wire has the insulation worn away in a couple places. Looks like this has seen some abuse already. Maybe I’ll continue maybe I’ll get another one.

 

I have that exact same part that I bought by accident trying to get the 7pin on the cheap, that is one nice looking bracket btw. That number is 061850-0820. The full wiring harness kit is PT725-35120.

 

That a typo? 061850-0820 comes up with nothing but as Sparky posted 061860-0820 does. But in my searches it’s the whole harness.

Edit: I’ll call the dealer in the morning.

Just curious, you said you bought this by accident. Would you want to sell it? If it’s a better price than my dealer I’d consider taking it off your hands. (Unless of course you’re returning it for a full refund)

 

I do want to sell it, but it's the full harness. Comes with wiring to the front, blinker box, and connectors. So I'd ask $90 for it

Didn't even know a towing package was available for the reg cab.

Wonder if the above kit is plug & play on any reg cab?
