I never thought fitting a wheel would be so hard.

So trying to not spend any money I acquired 2 sets of rims for super cheap.
    16x8 0 offset.
With the first set the tire now clears but it hits the disc brake caliper and needs the spacers on it to clear. Didn't even think about that part. It hits the front not the outside.
The other set clears the front of the caliper but only by a small amount. Very small. It looks like maybe a paper or 2 would fit between but not much more.
Is this normal? Is the wheel ok being that close? Should I just get rid of these and bite the bullet and get new ones?
I want to get rid of the spacers and be able to fit up to 285/75/16. Currently have 265/75/16
    Thanks for the help.

My truck had 16x8 0 offset wheels with 285/75/16 tires and there was no caliper contact and no rubbing. I remember someone on here saying their AR wheels that were 16x8 0 offset were making contact. So it makes me wonder if some wheels aren't true to the dimensions they claim. I think someone on here tried a set of AR Baja AR172 16x8 with 0 offset and they hit the calipers. What are the specific wheels you have? Do they look like the stock calipers? Someone may have done a brake upgrade.

The fact that they are 16x8 doesn’t mean all the other dimensions match.

16x8 refers to the rim diameter and width for mounting the tires. The interior dimensions can differ between wheel styles and brands.

The angle of the spokes from the centerline to the rim is what is causing the problem. One goes further out so it clears.

The old lady isn't exactly thrilled with the rims anyway so probably going to go with a new set.

"Lets just get new ones" was what she said.
Well you don't have to ask me twice. Went down to my new favorite shop here in Portland Oregon, Automotive Outfitters and looked over their selection. The Lady really liked these Moto Metal rims so we got them. I think they look pretty tuff too.

Actually no they were Ultra Claw wheels. They fit fine on the 1st gen but hit the 2nd gen caliper. Oh well problem solved.
