Mine does that also. Is it just a little more or dead stop?

I’d say it’s there once every other or every time prob every 2. I noticed it earlier after I bolted most things up it was smooth with engine open and plugs out. Can’t think of anything.

sounds like you are fighting compression or the valvetrain spring tension.

Not dead stop I can turn it past just gives me a soft push back that I have to push through.

That’s what I assumed but checking the I’s and crossing the T’s before I fill her back up with coolant.

Shit bolted onto other shit, and junk.
Cam lobes peaking and then once you overcome valve spring tension it releases a little easier just turn only clockwise

What everyone else said. You are fighting compression. Turn it and ensure everything moves smooth as needed and if it all looks lined up and clean crank it and go!

Yah that’s what I figured. Getting it filled up with coolant now and fire it up soon and check pulley alignment and all. It’s just about there.

With as much of an adventure as this has been for you, you might as well (or have someone with you) take a video of the engine as it fires up to life renewed to document such a triumph.

Oh that will happen good or bad.

this things take a ton of coolant now. S/C, CSF plus stock capacity.

Yeah I know. It's nuts huh.

Just make sure they take a few steps back in case any belts decide to go rogue during initial fire up. :D

    It's DLX son!
If it spun easy with the plugs out you are in the clear on the cam gears. Probably just all the accessories turning plus S/C now. Maybe confirm the water pump pulley/fan are squarely bolted and it didn't get crooked if you had the fan clutch removed.

I only say this as I removed mine while installing cam gears and missed getting it fully seated on re-install. It sounded awful on start up and I was sure I screwed up the timing somehow. Turned out it was the water pump pulley jumping around.

Magnuson Supercharger, Speedhut AFR and Boost Gauges, TRD ECU Reflash, Factory Nav Unit, TRD Skidplate, VIP alarm, 265/75R16 Cooper Discoverer ATP, 1" KSP Spacers, hub centric (hold comments lol), TRD Pro Grill, Raptor Lights on with ignition. Upcoming - purchased, not yet installed: Body matched rear bumper (rattle can), Kicker Hideaway, JL Audio 6x9 components w/80Hz Bass Blockers, Hellwig anti-roll bar, TRD Short Shifter, Knock-off TRD Shifter (non-Qball), black throwback plates. Plans: more.
Newly installed Magnuson on 2nd gen 4.0 makes sort of a coarse rumble on light throttle, almost sounds like a V8.
Did some searching and looks like these make a little rattle on idle coming from the rear of the unit, mine is no different from the videos I've seen on here, idle seems fine.
Haven't heard anyone talking about a rumble on light throttle though, any thoughts?
Dynoed before and after, STD and SAE correction are both about 23% max HP gain, 100 ft elevation, 80 degrees. 91 octane. 275/70R16s, 6spd. Installer did a Magnuson tune with Bully Dog unit.
Is all this sounding about right or should I be concerned?
Searched and didn't find exactly what I was looking for, and this thread is very active so that's why I asked here first.
    Any thoughts or suggestions appreciated.

rattle is normal for me, the coupler typically accounts for the rattle. Welcome to the beginning of your spiral. I know you just dumped in the SC and tune but would recommend TRD over the bullydog setup. HPTuner and/or @JustDSM can get you setup.

    Ha ha, yeah.
Cool, thanks for the advice, yeah from what I've read on here tune sounds important.
I didn't think I would notice any noise or rumble on light throttle, that part normal?

$50 to reflash your BD tune to TRD Spec. I would need the ECU shipped to me to perform the conversion however. Custom tuning via HPTuners will cost you $250.

Not to turn this into any more of a sales pitch, but the TRD tune would be MUCH safer than the BD tune. I don't think you'll find anyone here to say otherwise.

Looking into doing that at some point. Turnaround time?
Any thoughts on the rumble at part throttle?

I perform ALL flashing the day I receive the ECU and ship them out the following morning to minimize downtime. I use USPS Priority Mail for 2-3 day turn around (Shipping is included in those prices too, btw). If you'd like to use a faster carrier service I'm happy to accommodate but I'd ask that you then cover the difference in shipping.

No rush/pressure to do it now. I'm happy to do it anytime you're ready, just send me a PM and we'll work everything out.

TBH that sounds pretty good. I'll do some searching and probably be getting back to you.

Anyone have an opinion or experience any extra noise on part throttle before whine?
    I wasn't expecting that noise.
