I painted the chrome ring on the 4WD knob and shift boot collar with flat black spray paint. They have held up really well. I think that just about any surface prep, a good wipe with alcohol, and spray paint would kill that orange for you.

I appreciate that. I’m wondering if anyone has painted their orange one and did a writeup how they did it? Can’t seem to find one. Also that’s for the carbon fiber one but not a huge fan! I’d like black or I’d go for the stock gray over the orange.

Several Super White folks painted their trim to match. You might find something there searching for stormtroopers?

If you want the grey, I bet it would be pretty easy to find an Inferno owner that would like your parts to swap?

No write up but I did it, took some high grit sand paper to rough up the trim but to also keep it nice and smooth. Then I primed it with a few coats, used a color match paint I got from Amazon, and then did a matte clear coat to it. Very easy job all the trim comes apart so no need for tape. Just be patient and let the coats dry, go light with the coats and keep repeating.

Why paint it. Someone would probably trade you.
I did paint mine red. Clean it well and use an adhesion primer first. An then paint it.
