I've been planning out a mild install with the Alpine ILX-W650 with the piggy back KTA450 amp. I'd like to keep my sub install as stealth as possible. I have a couple Pioneer 8" shallow subs in boxes that go behind the seats and I wan't to install a small amp to power them.

I've never been into the dash yet and before I disassemble I'm wondering if anyone thinks this. https://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_158907_NVX-VADM1.html will fit anywhere back there. Its 7 x 3.5 x 1.5". I've looked at as many builds as I could find but never could see clear enough to see what kind of space is back there. If its too tight I can go to the back but then I think I'd go with a slightly bigger amp and a different amp kit.

Probably a shot in the dark but figured it can't hurt to ask.

I haven't seen inside dash on old tacomas but I have seen 3rd gen Tacomas... They have room behind headunit.. I am sure they have room in 2nd gen Tacomas similar to 3rd gen.

If I were you, take it apart and see inside so you can find how much room in order to have the right size before you buy or mount. If not, place it in glove box. Or under the dash on passenger side. Under the seat, etc.

I probably will. I'm going as unmodified and hidden as I can on this one. Been through some big builds and decided with this truck to make everything reversible with no cutting or holes. Thanks.

Took me longer to make this post than to go out and pull the radio out LOL. There is not much room back there on the Gen 2. No way anything is going back there than the replacement radio and the wiring...plan B. On the bright side I can go bigger if I want. Nothing wrong with that.

Yeah in the 2nd gen NOTHING is going in the dash lol. There just isn’t much room to play with in there, especially for an amp that size.
