New Corvette Stingray C8 Reveal. 0-60 less than 3s, under $60k

Yea, the new Tesla is 1.9 sec. 0-60 and 8.8 1/4 mile.

 

It’ll race right to a distribution center for repairs, too. The one in Sand City / Seaside, CA has a constant line of Tesla models getting fixed, new and old.

This car is fantastic looking. The outgoing model was great looking, and this one looks European exotic. It’ll sell fine.

 

8.8 second quarter mile time?? That puts it in the 185 mph range for trap speed, I don't think that's going to make it to production in that form.

 

It will, but the battery will be dead after two runs.

I saw the reveal yesterday and was shocked when i heard the price.
Im hoping that this will drive down used vette prices and i can pick up a c5 or c6 for cheap
I was messing around with the build your own c8 on the chevy website
I cant tell if the white is a pearl/metallic white...but with the black wheels its tits.

 

Overall I think the new car looks great, not perfect but a bold move for sure.

@12TRDTacoma I'm conflicted about the move to mid engine and DCT only. Just doesn't seem like a real Corvette anymore.

I searched for over a year for my old C3 cause it was so hard to find a 4-speed, toward the end of the run 85% were autos. The biggest demographic of new Vette buyers will still look like this for the forseeable future:

Im going to corvettes at Carlisle next month for the first time, they are going to have 2 c8's on display.
Ive lived an hour away from Carlisle for years and never had motivation to go.
The design your own app is up on the chevy site now, i like the dark blue, the wife likes the white, we are now considering waiting for 2021 and getting one

 

Finally saw one on the road today. What a gorgeous car.
