Used a heat gun and peeled off one of my TRD bedside decals. However, WD40 doesn't work for removing the adhesive residue? Also tried Turtle Wax bug & tar remover and Mr Clean magic eraser to no avail. I found WD40 worked well on my previous 2nd gen. Is there something different with 3rd gen decals?

Try Goof Off, I've used it on numerous things over the years. Just try in a small spot on your ride to make sure you don't destroy the paint. Used it on my 03 Tacoma for adhesive, tar, bugs. Works great.

3m adhesive remover. Sometimes you have to get a good bit of spray on the towel, hold it to the sticky residue to soften it, then rub a bit off at a time. Repeat...

Goof Off works wonders, used it when I removed my logos/emblems. Test it on a small area first to be sure but no reaction with paint was seen through the years I've used it. Be sure if using a rag to keep using a clean portion to run adhesive away otherwise you will just spread previously removed adhesive over a large area.

Random side note: If you ever remove a soft bed cover and you want to remove the velcro (if applicable) from the bed front top rail, DO NOT use Goof Off.

He is correct the 3M wheel works like a champ and is by far the easiest way to remove any decal. I did my truck in about ten minutes.

I use denatured alcohol for removing adhesives. Soak a paper towel, rub lightly, and be patient. Just don't leave the soaked paper towel in constant contact with the clear coat too long, it may soften it a bit.

I’ve had great luck with Goo Gone, just wipe it on, let it sit for a few seconds, and wipe it off.

 Couldn't find a 3M eraser wheel in stock locally, but I bought a PowerFist branded 4" one. Worked well!

BTW all the N95 chemical masks and filter cartridges (meant for painting, etc.) are cleaned out from the store. People are getting scared of the cervezavirus.

You don’t need the goo gone or any other chemicals, put it in a drill and erase it.

Very, very simple with little fuss.

I know that lots of folks have used and like adhesive remover wheels. (I used them too.) I would offer one big caution though. Although they say they don't damage paint, there's simply no way that rubbing anything against your paint doesn't damage it at some level.

As for my go to product for adhesive removal, I've tried a ton of them and the only one I use these days is:

Another ticky for Goo Gone and NOT Goof Off. It did take a while but it took off all the residue when I removed my OR decals.
