    So this is mostly a compiled list of information on a wireless module that attaches inline with most wiring harnesses out on the market and is programmable to the rear view mirror's garage opener on a 3rd Gen.

    some guy on reddit inspired me to do this originally
    but basically installed a wireless harness unit for some spare pod lights i had hanging around, as i plan to use them as work lights for the truck. Since i don't have a need for the built in garage opener located in the 3rd gen rear view mirror, i figured to give it a shot.

    direct quote from OP of the thread;

    Bought this harness for my ditch lights and come with a remote control, you can then use the garage button to learn the buttons from that control you now have a use for those buttons...

    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07KLNFP4H/ref=cm_sw_r_other_apa_i_HN8CEbB0BNNAA

    I used a module from another company, I will not link them as i refuse to do business with them again, if you want a TLDR: they were forced to send the harness to me by Amazon after they tried to do a $120 price hike from the original $30 on me. If you wish to avoid or check out the exact harness i used anyways, PM me and i'll provide a name.
    To my understanding, anything that uses that remote itself (it's all made in the same factory) will work. If you dont trust amazon; the FrontRunner guys also sell them
    and seem to sell a variation of the wiring harness

    Anyways, It's braindead simply to connect together. The module is meant to plug either in-line (as it has a bypass connection for physical buttons) or have just the wireless module connect alone into the majority of the LED light bar harnesses out on the market (ones with the 40A relay and all look the same on Amazoom) otherwise you can wire it yourself which i have no idea how to do.

    Something like this;

    Here is the unit in use;

    Range of it is about 50 meters for the remote control in an open field, so having it wired under the hood will effect that range, though i've not hard wired the unit into the truck yet to try out how much less it is as i'm still making a wiring loom/ aux fuse box panel for some other accessories for the truck.

    Anyways, as mentioned you can pair the remote to the garage opener which there seems to be 2 methods of doing this;
    Follow this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1On27IIRIu8

    or this (which is what worked for me) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mvoKBm7h3aY

    After you set the remote to the rearview mirror - that's it. Other than programming the "OFF" button to another spot on the rearview, there is no other programing needed.

    As i might get questions;
    Podlights are Amazoom specials that came with a 32inch bar that i have in the lowergrille mounted with Cali-raised brackets.

    I'm confused. What do you mean programming the "Off" button to another spot? Doesn't the same button turn On and Off?

    It's a little strange, the key fob button works in this manner ;
    1 button is on,
    1 button is off
    1 for strobe
    1 for faster strobe.

    pressing the "ON" button twice will not turn off the unit. That's why you need to program the "on" and "off" buttons separately.

    If i can find information on how to bypass that - i'll update the post. but as it stands, that's how i have it set like
