Regardless of what the Toyota website says, the Pros posted in this thread could be determined to be bogus just by the photos.

    Yes.

It's less a case of being lied to and more a combination of vague coding and clueless dealerships.

But what the fuck, let the inmates run with another 10 pages of purported dealer fraud.

A non-Pro with Pro badging? Ok maybe a clueless dealer.

An OR with OR decals, listed as a Pro? Hard to pass that off as a clueless dealer.

    Yes. Clueless dealers.

My old Pro use to show up as a base SR5 on the USAA insurance website. I've seen countless Tacomas misadvertised...both 2nd and 3rd gen over the years. When I traded my Pro in, the dealer had no idea what model it was because I debadged it.

The explanation that was referenced from another post is 100% correct. When you plug the VIN in on some sites it comes up with a soup of model trims separated by backslashes. Most clueless dealers pick the first one. If you kindly point it out they are genuinely perplexed.

However, this is Tacoma World, so I fully expect most people to discard this fact and run with the all "dealer are crooks" angle. I would expect nothing less of a fanbase that regularly drains the tranny fluid instead of the oil, can't find simple answers in the owners manual, and complains for days on end about a goddamn filter housing.
