Any issues with my life/wheel/tire setup?

I've done some searching here and have found a bunch of good information. I've also narrowed down my options and have pretty much decided what I want to do. With that being said, does anyone here with more knowledge than me see any issues with this setup? Just want to make sure before I spend a few thousand dollars.

My rig is a '17 Tacoma Double Cab SR5 4x4. I just purchased it a couple weeks ago. The truck, like many others in Houston, TX will spend 99% of its time on road, but I would like it to look a bit more aggressive and still maintain its ride quality and reliability. And of course, perform when I need it to when I do some light off roading.

BILSTEIN (5100s front and rear) 2″ LIFT KIT WITH EIBACH COILS (2inch) W/ 1 inch block kit in the rear

17x9 Fuel Wheels with 1+ offset and 5 IN B.S.

265/70 Nitto Terra Grappler G2 A/T

AAL in the rear would be a better choice and nothing aggressive about a +1 offset.

 

I was thinking the same thing but Bilstein recommends the 1in block for a close to level look...

 

Go 1.5” in rear a little rake is good

 

He said he wanted it to look “a bit more aggressive”. +1 on a 17x9 will make it a bit more aggressive.

I’d do 5100s w/o eibach coils, progressive AAL. 285/70/17s and call it a day.

 

Block won’t help leaf springs sag over time it won’t stay level for long been down that road...the AAL will help with wheel hop if you got a heavy right foot on wet pavement.

 

I see. Maybe the ToyTec 2” AAL would be the way to go.

 

You can get a 1” lift leaf pack or am AAL. Bilstein is the better kit IMO, and you don’t need 285s. 265/70s will be just fine

 

well, no shit, Sherlock. He doesn’t need to lift it either, but here we are.

OP, don’t listen to the bad advice... if you lift it and leave tire size at 2whimpy5/70s, you will regret it. It will not look proportionate.

285s all the way for your set up.

 

I'm happy with 265/70's and a 3" lift.

I guess my truck is too wimpy, to be cool.

I'd rather go with the 285s but I feel the 265s would be less problematic. I don't want to have to trim and cut if I don't have to or go with spacers. Just my thinking right now. I haven't pulled the trigger on anything yet. Thanks for all the suggestions so far.

 

Do you think modifications will be required with the setup I originally posted on a 285? I saw you also suggested to go without the Eibach. What do you suggest as a replacement?

 

The point is, you need to go with what you feel is right for YOUR truck and is within YOUR budget.

I stuck with 265's, because I didn't want to do a CMC or increase the tire weight.

 

What I feel may be right and what actually works may be two very different things lol.

I think I agree with you on the 265s though.

 

If I could have put 285s on with zero mods, other than a lift, I would have. However, I have the power to push the rubber. Many on here regear, due to tire size.
