    Hello,
I had originally designed MaxTrax MkII bed mount for my 3rd Gen Tacoma but after request from 2nd Gen owners I have designed a mount to work with the 2nd Tacoma factory bed rail.

These are custom manufactured MaxTrax Bed Mounts for the 2005-2015 2nd Gen Tacoma that will hold 2 MaxTrax MkII Recovery Boards. The MaxTrax Bed Mount installs onto the factory Tacoma bed rail behind the cab. The required T-nut and button head hex screw for mounting to the bed rail is included. Because the mount installs on the rail, the MaxTraxs will be offset from the back of the bed approximately 1.25".

If you would like to flush mount the MaxTraxs and do not use the bed rail, the 3rd Gen Tacoma mount I've designed will mount the Maxtraxs flush with the bed after uninstalling the factory bed rail. These mounts can be found in this thread. This thread also has installation pictures and feedback on usage and durability by those who have purchased and used the MaxTrax bed mounts.

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/maxtrax-bed-mount-2x-and-4x.649875/

I sell these MaxTrax Mount for $40 shipped.

Unfortunately I don't have pictures of the mount installed on a 2nd Gen but here is the 3rd Gen design installed on my Tacoma.

Is it a solid hold or would it rattle around?

Hello, JVL1985 actually did some desert driving testing for me and said that they were very ridged and did not rattle or come off.

Thanks @supralee for making me one that fits my front OEM Rail, and works with my aftermarket tonneau cover!

How well do these hold the boards with the bedrail? It looks like on the 3rd gen w/out a rail, the first board is held in place by the lip of the bed.

The boards basically sit between the wheel wells and the mount acts as a support to keep them there. It isnt really holding any weight, more so keeping them in place. With the lip at the end of the hook, its not going to come off.

    Thanks @Shellshock !

@OldGregg I also wanted to add that the Maxtrax do interlock with each other and that also helps hold them as well. If you're not satisfied I would be willing to offer a full refund also. Thanks for your interest!

I don't currently have a bedrail, but have been thinking about adding one since I am looking for a way to carry bikes since my GF has the bike rack on her vehicle. Once my boards show up, you'll get a PM when I decide on whether I want to go through with adding a bedrail or not.

Will maxtrax fit between the fender wells of a 2nd gen? I thought i measured once and they wouldn’t. Looks like all the posts in this thread are from 3rd gens... any 2nd gen SHORT bed guys have this mount for 4 maxtrax?

Hello @2006KJ , the Maxtraxs will fit between the wheel wells in the bed. I actually haven't designed one to hold 4 Maxtraxs for the 2nd Gen yet but if that's a configuration you would like I can design and print one. Thank you

I'm interested in the 4 mount for my 2nd gen DCSB. I do have a concern that with the BedRug installed, the MaxTrax may sit higher than your mount is designed for. Let me know if you need some testing.

    2015 DCSB with BedRug

Lee set me up with a mount for 4 MaxTrax MKII's. I'm going to let it bounce around on some washboard and see how it goes with the current height we decided on. Since I have a camper on the truck and not a tonneau, I don't have an issue with where it mounts vertically, just lower down with the BedRug effectively narrowing the distance between the wheel wells on the short bed.

The MaxTrax go on quite easily - you don't have to put them on one at a time, you can do the entire stack at once.
BONUS: You can still use the bed tie-downs at each end of the front rail.

@supralee do you still make these? Know if they will work with other brands?
