Make sure its screwed on super tight and then put the light bar up and if it still has the noise go from there. I just installed mine and had the same thought- metal spacers sitting directly on the frame possibly not a good idea? I don’t know- I tightened mine down more and will test drive tomorrow to see if my noise went away. Nothing is perfect.

i can almost guarantee this noise is from the lack of light bar. Air is catching the grooves in the first bar and causing the noise. One a bar fills the hole your rack will quiet down. It has nothing to do with the metal spacers.

do not replace the spacers, plastic or rubber will compress over time. The silicone will do the job of a rubber washer in terms of dampening

Anyone with an Extreme LED X6S know exactly what the red and white wire coming directly from the bar are? I am assuming that the red wire is power for the center clear lights, and white wire is power for the amber lights, but want to be clear. I'll be wiring these up to the Switchpro, and don't need to worry about switches and relays.

Is there a long bed version of the truss racks? Don't see it as an option on the Web site. Specifically I am looking at the Softopper version

extreme changes their wiring once a month it seems like. White is normally amber, red is normally white. If not, just switch them on the switch pro lol

@Slamchez25 Easy way to test that. Run a strip of gaff tape over the light bar holes and go for a drive. Or several layers of painter/masking tape. Take a drive. Noise gone? Put in a light. But dont leave the tape. The residue will be a PITA to work off.

@upTOPoverland just a thought. Is there any way to further increase the height of the rack? Based on the OG model with the adjustments on the slots being at max height, I feel like the rack may actually be touching the roof. Would you happen to have longer aluminum spacers?

Ugh. I wouldn’t want to undo my mounting bolts with the amount of silicone I put on mine. It would be a nightmare.

While this is true, I have to undo mine because I have yet to put on the weather stripping. Hopefully mine goes better because I used RTV. Hopefully...

Thanks, any chance you have a any pics with a truss rack on a long bed, little worried it is going to look short with the topper.
