Making a move soon. Where’s the good places in/around Lawton to live and places to avoid? We did a short trip there a couple weeks back, but not enough time to get a real good feel for it.

    Thanks!

Damn, sorry man...lol I'm originally from Lawton, but left when I joined the military. My parents still live there so I visit Lawfghanistan now and then. Wish I could tell you a good place...like any place, there is a good side and a bad side. What takes you to Lawton?

What’s your budget like house wise?
I can point you in the direction of some neighbors to definitely stay out of.

We’re hoping to stay in the mid-100k range. We can go higher but want to live modestly and have money for other things

Basically far east or west sides of town. Nothing South or in the middle of town. Or just move to Cache or Elgin, very short drive, much better locations.

This...I grew up on the west side of Lawton...my parents still live on the west side of town, just a few miles from Goodyear and Bar-S

I'm east of town, on 20 acres. Grew up outside Lawton, but moved there when i started college. Took me 12 years to move out of town, wont ever live in town again. 12 years was long enough, lol.

This so basically between 67th to I-44 you are going to want to stay out of.

I’ve been here since January. Nothing to complain about so far. It’s pretty much a standard Army town.

Thanks! I'll see you there. I'm going to be working for the Garrison; and will show up with a Tacoma of some colour and probably a turd off-road. I have to buy it when I land around detroit 1st of August, then drive to northern Alabama to pick my my car. Figure I'll be in / around lawton probably mid august - so if you happen to see a taco towing a RX8, that'd be me.

    Cheers
    Darin
