I think you are correct. I was just surprised that it could output so much; more than a typical car lead-acid battery. It got me thinking about why manufactures still use lead-acid batteries. I assume it is mostly a cost reason.

I run a different combination of everything folks here have already mentioned.

First aid kid is more of a modified jump pack / trauma kit *light*. Lots of ammo. A boom stick or two. Lithium jump pack. Tools. Cables. Tow strap. Flashlight / strobe. Food water for 72 hours. Bivy sack. Pulaski. Chainsaw at times.

What I don't think has been mentioned yet is an 18v cordless inflator / compressor:

No, not at all. A battery does not have to have 1000 A-h of capacity of supply a temporary surge; it's not like your truck's battery could supply the cranking amp rating for long.

The stated temperature ranges make it questionable for winter use in my area.

 

That’s more tools than I have in my garage. No way am I lugging that around when I go wheeling. Lol

 

All batteries including the lead-acid cell in your truck are affected just like this jumpstarter. There is no battery chemistry that exists that can ever escape a large drop in capacity as you approach the freezing point.

 

I’m not going to argue about batteries losing oompf in the cold, but I know from experience that my truck’s battery works quite well below -4F. I would be worried about that one working, because the manufacture has stated that it doesn’t.

 

OK, that doesn't change the fact that all battery chemistries lose about 50% of their capacity as temperature goes below the freezing point. Noco probably put that in the specifications because less current will be supplied, just like how your lead-acid cell will also supply less current when cold. Most battery manufacturers don't bother supplying a temperature range even though the same chemistry limitations apply.

I’m in Maine, and I leave it in the vehicle all winter, in fact I took out last spring to change, still at 100%

 

Not gonna rehash everything from my kit which has mostly been named already, but two things I'll add are: Tire deflators, and a T50 "Allen Key" for adjusting my roof rack rails on the fly if needed.

 

Yup, add a jack, jumpers, steel tie wire, a bit of hose/tubing, a small assortment of hose clamps, vaccum caps and maybe a connector or 2, few lengths of wire, test light, spare tire, cpl/few lug nuts, tires plug stuff, rubber cement, gasket maker, jaket, sleeping bag, flashlight, batteries, a tow chain or strap, a lighter and a cpl beers and you if that dont get you home idk what to tell you
I also keep a chiltons in a dry bag in there too.

I have used my noco 1000amp to start a 6.0L in my 2005 GTO no problem. But like most of you guys my gets used on the mower most of the time.
