The mount looks identical to the R155F mount, can you confirm if this will fit?

I will say having mine around 100,000 miles not a problem.

    Works just great!!

Is it required/recommended to upgrade motor mounts to solid mounts when installing these, or will upgrading the tranny mount not cause additional stress on the motor mounts? I've seen some people say that it's required to upgrade both as it'll destroy old stock motor mounts when you install these.

Hard call to make each Truck can be different so many things can factor in.

I can`t say for anyone else but I never changed my motor mounts.

My transmission mount had not failed the new mount (4x Innovations ) was installed during a clutch change around 125,000 miles

As far as I know engine mounts are still original at 225,000 miles 100,000 miles with no issues.

It depends how one uses your truck hard core off roading with lots of hard impacts or a high horse power engine

If you have been driving for some period of time with a failed transmission mount having already stressed the motor mounts it might be a good idea.

Being your Truck if you feel it needs done just because age and mileage go for it.

Still on original motor mounts at 625,000 miles, higher horse power hasn’t effected them.
1st Trans mount was replaced at 550,000 or so when clutch was done.

Under "normal" offroad driving no you don't have to change the motor mounts. The motor and trans mounts are far enough apart that it has very little affect on the motor mounts ability to move and flex. It has more to do with keeping the back of the trans from bouncing around as much. That said if you're jumping the truck or running huge tires, high HP and love to get stuck under undercut ledges and pound on it you're probably going to want to change them all anyway.

I ordered mine this weekend. It looks like Toyota discontinued this mount and you can only find aftermarket replacements but I want an upgraded mount.
I noticed this weekend while on the highway there was a "clunk" when I shifted into 5th gear with a load in the bed of my truck. I crawled underneath and there is some play in the mount as well as the carrier bearing, that will be replaced also. They are 25 yrs old and I am sure those are the issues to the "clunk". I can't wait until I get the mount!

Update: spoke too soon, the mount is awesome and the craftmanship is spot on. Only issue is there is too much vibration for my stock truck. Going to a OE mount for a Taco that is built in June of '97 through 2004. Looks like that will work on my truck. Anyone need a Super Duty Tacoma Trans. Mount?

Anyone notice any additional vibration in the cab after swapping this mount from the oe rubber mount?

Thank you for your order Homegrown. You will see some vibration increase since you're going to a stiffer bushing.

    Thank you.
Why does Toyota use such small bolts for the crossmember to mount? I started all the bolts by hand with blue loctite and torqued to 13 ft. lbs. and one of the bolt heads snapped off. I am going to take the mount back off and get the broken stud out, I ordered 4 new bolts and going to put a aftermarket stock style mount back in. This mount has a little too much vibration for my stock truck. Anyone need a Super Duty mount?

Installed one of these during my automatic-to-manual swap. It’s a beautiful piece. The welds were so pretty I almost didn’t want to paint it!IMG_2714.jpg IMG_3204.jpg
