Has anyone figured out a reasonably priced, reasonably easy to execute vertical spare tire carrier that will work in the bed? I'd like to do something in a vertical so that I can keep my floor space available.

I found a welded carrier at SEMA last year that is $450 and bolts to the deck and then uses a single strap up & over the tire. Seems excessive.

I'm not adverse to bolting something to the side rails but the front rail is impeded by a cross-tray.

    Any ideas?

When I first started to read this I thought I was going to read about another Tacoma with a rotted out spare tire carrier. You see the spare in the bed a lot around here for the wrong reasons. Glad this is not the case.

The All-Pro rear bumper has a hidden receiver hitch that sucks up too much room and the tire won't fit underneath. Aside from the potential issues of not getting it out when I need it, I figure leaving it in the bed makes more sense.

I just have mine strapped to the front of the bed. Ratchet strap and the stock moveable tie downs can't bet much cheaper.
