Second Third Gen ....and All is Good

So I said goodbye to my 2017 Off Road as I rolled my lease over to a 2020 Sport. And I'm glad I did. They have made some minor adjustments to the transmission shift points which give the vehicle the same "feel" as my dearly missed 2007 Off Road.

The additional features of the electronic adjustable drivers seat and distance pacing cruise control are great benefits. The Entune 3.0 infotainment system is well...... still Entune. But as and Android phone user the addition of of Android Auto may prove useful. Took it out for 100 mile drive today and thoroughly enjoyed it.

I really had to think hard about switching from the Off Road to the Sport model but at my age I think my off roading days will are coming to a close. As long as I can still haul my travel trailer and navigate the beach front with the Sport, I'll be happy.

They have changed packages since 2017, however and I had to up to the so called "premium" package just to get automatic climate control. They throw in leather seats, a moon roof and other doo-dads that I don't really need, to get the ACC, but they made me an offer I couldn't refuse.

The moral of the story is that if you weren't terribly excited by the early releases of the 3rd Gen, it really is worth another look.
