Upon a oil/filter change they recommended to have the injectors and throttle body cleaned and serviced. Any recommended products I can use to remedy filth? TIA

Port injection is doing the bulk of the cleaning.

Places recommend this because they get your money...

To be honest you don’t need it. Today’s fuel has detergents in it, you have decent fuel filter and the engine has port injection to burn away carbon build up.

What symptoms are you experiencing that makes you think you need to clean the injectors? Or are you doing it because someone tried to sell you something?

Not necessary, just something the oil change place "recommends" in order to get you to spend more money with them.

I’m with you on notion it’s an attempt to drum up business for sure. Just inquiring about a legit cheap work around.

as a matter of fact performance hasn’t been affected as far as I can tell.

I’d be surprised if there was substantial build up but if there’s an inkling I’d like to nip it at the bud if you know what I mean.

Throw some techron in your tank and your good or any other suitable injector cleaner.

You're gonna get a better return from using quality gas. As stated before port injection (that ticking you hear at idle is cleaning as well) are gonna take care of it. If you're actually needing this done and are on the verge of a tear down, something alot more costly than a bottle of bullshit is required.

On another note those of you take your truck in to dealership for oil changes, what brand synthetic are they using. This particular dealer uses pennzoil...just curious

I'm sure any quality synthetic will work fine. If you were in a colder area you could slightly change it up as per the owners manual (or even if you don't have 0-20 it has a sub reccomendation in the manual)

Edit: I personally just used Mobil 1 synthetic because I got a case of it for 15 bucks on sale. I just did amsoil in my front and rear diff because I got it for the same price as other competitors, as well as have been using it for almost 18 years in many other vehicles including a 2001 dodge 2500 that hauled 10,000 pound fully enclosed snowmobiles up mountain passes every weekend

For the throttle body i’d remove the tube from the air filter and just spray liberally in and around the throttle valve with any aerosol can of ‘Throttle Body Cleaner’ from the auto parts store. For the injectors, i’ve always just thrown a can of ‘Seafoam’ in the gas tank once a year or so.....

I like using some cleaner and wiping the throttle body bore and throttle plate down. Other than that I throw some Seafoam in the tank once in a while just because. The Seafoam probably doesn't do anything but it makes me feel better lol.

Wipe the throttle body with residue free solvent. Toyota specifically warns against hosing it down.

They also warn, if learning value reset and idle learning aren't performed after cleaning the throttle body, idle speed might increase.

I've always used BG throttle body cleaner. Just a little will get it done.
