Truck wont go into 4x4

Once in a while my truck will go into 4x4 then I’ll take it back to 2wd, if I try to put it back into 4x4 I get nothing. No lights on the dash to even show its trying. I saw a while back that someone said they found a work around by turning the truck off then turning the key to acc and being able to get into 4x4 there but it doesn’t work for me. Anything will help, thanks.

So the 4wd light doesn't come on and flash and beep at you when you are trying to turn it back on?

 

Not at all

 

Switch issue possibly?!?!?! Wiggle the switch a bit when it starts doing it and see if it'll work some of the contacts may be getting worn.
