Trying to wire my side mirror turn signals but when I was checking the wires under the steering wheel I noticed a couple T-taps. Are these normal or did the previous owner mess with it already. The car was bone stock when I purchased it a couple years ago.

    Thanks,
    Ryan

Did you have any aftermarket parts installed on your rig?

Just my bestop but that's it. I checked the engine bay and everywhere else inside the cabin and don't see any loose wires.

looks like it may be an alarm/remote start of some sorts.

Did you buy the truck used from a used car lot? None of that is factory from what I can see.

There is no stock alarm system.

Take it back to CarMax, and have them disable and remove it.

Otherwise, it may cause you future problems (not starting), as well as possible privacy issues.

Trace the wires back to what ever box they goto. I am guessing a car alarm or remote start.

I have similar T-Taps underneath my dash too because the dealer pre-installed an after alarm called Karr Alarm when it was new. It also had that button mounted under the lower dash panel. However the dealer later removed the alarm and button but left the T-Taps behind. They had to replace the lower dash panel because of the holes left behind.

To this date I never had any electrical issues even though they messed with the wiring.
