Well i made the move (taco) and traded in my 19 ram limited 4x4 for a 2020 trd premium 4x4 in voodoo blue. Loved the ram but it was depreciating like a rock and it didnt fit my overlanding needs. I plan on selling a mazda speed miata for about 9k and plan on dumping 90% of into my trd build. Rtr and suension first then tires and ?? I really appreciate all the knowlege that is on here.

    Welcome!
    So.... hammer or screwdriver?
Money's a great tool, and there are some incredible companies/fabricators on here that will deliver amazing products for that money.... but you have to figure out what problems you're solving before you know which tools you need..

So, what's your overlanding style and what about the Ram didn't fit it?
Terrain? Fast desert runs, crawling rocks, mud, dirt roads, river crossings?

Duration? Weekend trips, week +, month +?

People and amenities? How many people/pets, what level of comforts of home? All seasons/weather?

Can you spin your own wrenches and do you want to?

Finally, remember that I'm a stranger on the internet and if a mod makes you happy, it really doesn't matter what I think.

Multi tool. Lol not sure about my overland style yet, comfort would be a 7 out of 10. People 2 to 3 max probably would take the wifes rubicon too. So that would split the weight carrying. I spin my own wrenches cant remebwr the last time i paid any one to do anything to my vehicles. Would really like to be able to do the alpine loop comfortably. I am trying to figure out what suspension. I have 3 that i think could do the trick old man emu bp51, falcon sport 2" tow haul and iron man foam pro stage 2. Also would like 33's but i am worried about gearing. If i did gearing i would possibly pay the labor for some one who does it often. I have auto.

I wouldn't worry about gearing unless you went 35's or bigger. I've got 285/65/16 and the stock gears are fine.

I'd say the regearing with 33's is really going to depend on how much weight you intend to carry. I'm on 33's right now and with the RTT, canopy, steel in the front and a bed full of stuff my rig is a hog and definitely needs a regear. lol

Don't forget the small cheap mods along with a big stuff. A/C drain reroute, diff breather mod, etc. And when it comes to the big expensive stuff do it once do it right!
