Was doing a Lowe's pick up and a metal plant hanger slid off our cart and hit the door. I can't decide if I'm happy the first ding was my own mistake lol. I spent about 2 hours using touch up and Meguiar's Scratch X 2.0 + Nu Finish polishing by hand. The original scratch was through the clear and paint similar to a rock chip. Should have taken a before photo, but I just wanted to get the scratch out of my 3 week old truck.

How did your first door ding happen?

2017 and no door dings. Knock on wood x4

I am hyper vigilant about where I park and can predict the future only in parking situations.
    I also work from home.

2018 TRD Sport, someone hit my D/S fender Flare in a parking lot.
Took it to my body shop and they fixed it. $192, they matched the silver sky metallic (not easy to match) perfectly and repair is totally un-detectable.

my first gen. I bought it and brought it home. The very next morning, was driving to the dealership to buy a bed liner, yes, that used to be a thing. On my way there, I hit a hunk of 2x4 while I was on the freeway and it kicked to the jersey barrier and hit my truck in the lower cab area right behind the driver door and put a dent there that I had to look at for 10 years until I sold it.

Wind caught the door of a Suburban. I'm a paintless dent repair technician. I was at work. Fixing dents. It stayed there for a couple years before I fixed it.
