    Hi all,
I have owned Jeeps since 1989, They stopped making vehicles for working class guys so I decided on a Tacoma. Ive done some reading here already and it has been a big help, and saved me some time ( just for tires alone).

I bought the Tacoma to pull my boat ( I looked at the fishing mod threads) and do some basic offroading and camping/ fishing in Northern Michigan with my son, as well as use it to tote hockey players and their gear around.

Just want to say Thanks to everyone for sharing some technical knowledge and giving a Toyota neophyte a place to do research.

    Be well

I have a question: My truck came equipped with a factory tonnneau cover...is it supposed to be watertight? It rained pretty decent last night and I looked inside the bed this morning...there were a few minor drips....not like a river inside but maybe a quarter cup of water in a few spots up near the front of the drivers side wheel well.
Is that to be expected? Or should it stay bone dry?

Welcome to TW. That is an easy fix, check the stripping when closed and figure out where you need new weather stripping

    Welcome!
Also check on the cab side of the bed under the rail, there is a vertical gap about 1+ long in near the corner that may need some plugging. It is possible that it is from the drain holes too depending on how far you’ve driven in the rain.

Edit: There are also areas around the rear taillights for ingress of dust at least but I could see water getting through if conditions are right. Up towards the rail and below towards the deck where the metal bits meet the plastic bits.

    Welcome to TW

If you don’t have it yet, get a bed mat. It keeps stuff up off the floor, so any water that comes in the sides runs down and out through the groves on the floor.

For the most part this good.

I’m not sure on the factory tonneau, butvI would check seals.
