Installed my Prodigy P2 brake controller and was wondering if I need to have the dealer program it, or is it good to go.
    Thanks in advance.

If you installed it correctly it is good to go. Nothing for dealer to program regarding trailer brake controller addition.

Thanks on my ford, I installed the factory controller in the dash but it had to be reprogrammed.

Read the instructions and adjust the knob for amount of braking - do in an area with some room.
You want to set so trailer starts braking right before your Tacoma so you can feel a slight pull slowing you and that avoids the trailer trying to swap places (jackknife around) in heavy or emergency conditions.

If new to towing the trailer brake controller can also be used alone to give it a tap if a big rig screams by you and the trailer starts wagging around. If you lift your foot off the gas when the rig passes it wags more as you are decelerating and hitch tongue weight changes. Torsion/weight distribution hitch helps all that too based on how heavy you tow. Light trailers do not need and most smaller single axle boats. Larger dual axles most do as weights go over 5000 lbs.
