So I have a question to everyone out there with Tacoma’s. When doing a transmission flush what does everyone recommend. Is it ok to do a simple drain and fill? Or do you prefer the complete tranny flush which cost close to 400 where I live. Just looking for advice on what to do. Is it bad to do a simple drain and flush. The way they make it sound is you cannot do it yourself you have to have it taken in and do the special flush and cannot do just a drain and fill

Mostly stock with a few minor mods.
You can do it yourself. Do a search. There are pretty good directions on this site. I did it with a modified garden sprayer through the tranny cooler lines. Cost of fluid plus about $8 for the sprayer.

Awesome thank you. I’ll have to check that out. I definitely would rather do it myself then pay Toyota 360 to do it. I have all the drain pans and things I need like that just need to get something like you said to do that. I’m new to this site how do I search for something I want advice on without having to start a thread?

Around $26,000 worth of unleaded in the fuel tank.
You can use the transmission's own pump to pump out the old fluid and replace it as you go with new fluid by using the transmission cooler lines. I suggest you view a bunch of youtube videos and search around until you find what will work best for you.

See the threads about Valvline Maxlife synthetic transmission fluid as well. I haven't really seen info about anyone having bad results with it, and its less than $20 a gallon.
