I haven't seen any posts touching on this topic, so I'd like to say that when the stereo tech tells you you'll never fit a standard profile 10" sub behind your Tacoma's rear seat, with a spec sealed enclosure, they're just not determined enough...

I threw all of the dimensions into 3D Max and modeled a .65sqft sealed enclosure out of 1" mdf. It bolts into the factory clips for the original plastic storage bin, which is sacrificed in the deal. When the rear seat is upright, there's over 1-1/4" space between the recessed sub and the lower seat moulding.

It can handle a sub with up to 5" to mount depth.

Driver or passenger side, and does it require removing the storage bin, or fit inside of it?

... just added a couple of images...

The sub sits behind the middle seat, but it can be located anywhere on the passenger side - I chose the middle to prevent giving my kid PTSD.

The storage had to go to accommodate the box, but there's still some room above, to mod something in it's place.

I did the same thing for a single cab Ford Ranger a long time ago, minus the computer. All trim and fit cardboard until I had all my templates, then cut it out of MDF.

I never considered the 6x9 behind The seats... dammit, I'm gonna need another amplifier!

I put it into the computer mainly to match JL's box volume specs - in this case, I matched it exactly. 3D helped to deal with a lot of the angles and measurements, which were down to the millimeter. It was a breeze to cut and assemble.

That kind of software wasn't available to the Average Joe back when I did mine. I'll have to keep it in mind for any future projects.
