That is EXACTLY what I saw on Google Maps. Was thinking of taking 206 to Quaker Bridge Rd and going in that way. Looks easy enough.

Had a great time out in Wharton today. Took the whole family. Found the old Jersey Central Rail line. Broke the COVID rules and had a picnic. The kids had a blast. The truck handled amazing. Better than the Jeep Gladiator I rented in Phoenix (took that onto BLM land. That was fun). Was able to get it nice and dirty. Went home and had to wash it twice before waxing it.

You weren’t kidding. I avoided stuff that I didn’t know how deep it was. One small puddle was rutted deep. Caught all of use by surprise. And that water smelled lovey. Even after two washes I still smell it. It remind of of the Seinfeld episode where a valet has bad BO and Jerry can’t get rid of it.

LOL "My jacket! I wore that in the car! The Beast!" great show. That water is nasty, It's stagnate and been there for a while. Looks like quite a bit of mud back there tho. Seems like a blast!

There wasn’t too much mud. The puddle I went through where my son took the picture was right where we went in. Other puddles were off the main trails (but still legal roads) and smelled bad. But everyone had a blast. My next adventure is going to be to Bass River to watch the A-10s practice their bombing runs. Read that you can drive right up to the gate off of 539 and watch it. Seen videos on YouTube and it looks cool. Nothing like hearing that brrrrrrttttttttt.

My brother drives a 4Runner and does adventures with me and his wife is retired Air Force. We would love to take part in that adventure if you know when they will be doing tests give me a shout.

Sure. So far what I’ve read is Monday mornings are the best time to go. People say there’s the main entrance road off of 539 and you can drive up to the gate and watch from there. I just want to do a little more research cause that sounds too good to be true for a military exercise.

Went out to Bass River then to Wharton. Nice day. Bass River’s trails are Amore loose sand. But it wasn’t anything the 4X4 couldn’t handle. No bombing exercises at Warren Grove today. But drove right up to the main gate. Then while on the trails, found an entrance. Forgot my foul hat to protect me from the lasers. While out, a State Parks Police truck was driving by. We had a nice conversation with him. Talking about Tacos. Then while at Wharton we took the Jersey Central Lines trail. That was a narrow trail. All in all it was a nice day to be out.

We went out a few weeks ago and tried to go to hidden lake in the Pasadena Wildlife Managment Area. Ran into all of these park police who told us it was a restricted area and to keep on heading out to the main road.. was a little intimidating to say the least.

Hit Wharton last weekend, went from the ranger station down to Batsto village was all simple trails nothing to get stuck on but you are right some of those are narrow! got a little trail rash from the branches. Hopefully they buff out.
Didn't see any Tacos out though it was all jeeps and subarus

On the way back from the campsite, we hit Forked River. A LOT of mud holes on the way from rt 72
