Finally listened to her. That was funny stuff. Wendy is gold.
Had to take a break when I started to listening to the fisting during quarantine. It's still too intense to listen too all at once. About 5 minutes and I need to change the channel.

 

Been listening to Sternthology while they're off.. Listening to Sal get uninvited from Howard's wedding is still one of my top ten favorite moments of the show. He's insane.

You notice Robin is not doing the news at end of the show?

 

The few cents a day we pay cuts out 20 plus minutes an hour of commercials and removed FCC guidelines and censorship. I'm happy as hell he went to satellite and so is Stern. No more limitations. No more bullshit! Everyone here will understand the reference.

Plus all the other channels I get. I'd pay just for his two channels, but happy I get those too.

Fuck Free FM in my opinion (talk and music). I respect your opinion but if you are a real stern fan I am also sad you have been and are missing out.

 

I'm sorry I think that your post is funny, but you are missing the entire point of why he went to satellite. He had the biggest audience in the history of FM for 20+ years, he doesnt care about that anymore. No censorship, no limitations, and full control of his show.

The show is so much better since it went off FM and it was great before that.

If you enjoyed the show in the past you'd love it now. If not, well, wrong thread good sir.

 

I think this was discussed at some point early on in the home shows. He tries to get off by 10 as he complains about his neighbors messing up his internet feed. Believe what you will. I do feel they get more show into the 3 hours now than the 4 with shorter commercial breaks.

 

Ok. It's not that expensive and there's so much more than just Howard. I use the music channels every day. Howard has so much content on there that if you wanted you could probably listen/watch Howard content constantly and not run out of things to hear/see. As far as ridiculous auxiliary gear, is your phone ridiculous auxiliary gear? Because that's all I use. As long as I have phone or Wifi service I'm good to go. If I know I'm going to be somewhere without service I download shows to listen to. It's well worth it for me for my sanity. It's been a godsend during this damn pandemic.

 

Yeah, I'm sure the neighbors thing is an excuse because of lack of commercial content. But I do agree there's way more show... I think the main reason she doesn't do the news is because she doesn't want to do the research for news content herself. She had a team of people finding her news before. So between Howard not wanting to do the show too long and her team not immediately available, that's why no news.

I always had mixed feelings for her news. I liked the odd stories but there was a lot that she got wrong. She'd report major news and report incorrect info. It always bothered me because Howard seems to find real news important but then Robin is giving out fake news. Which again is not entirely her fault. Her team gave her the info but if it was me I'd fact check before reading it.

 

It is clear after decades of listening she also isn’t up on what she reports as she often skim reads the article to get them stated. I know she can read but her paraphrasing is rough at times. It does add another element to the show with often callers adding to some stories. Howard is always looking to change the show and this is just another phase.

Yeah. Was just about to post this. I was hoping for live today. You'd think he wouldn't want to take time off. The show has to break up his monotony a little since he doesn't leave his house.

 

I can sympathize. I have an old car radio module with a lifetime subscription so I listen to Horward when I'm in the Tacoma. Otherwise, if I'm in my work truck, my wifes CUV, or at home I don't because I won't pay the ridiculous fees siriusxm wants. How can siriusxm justify $10 CAD a device when most services have gone to a model like Spotify and just link accounts to a single IP access at any one time. If we wanted Satellite radio to every corner of the house I'd be paying more to siriusxm than I pay for my cell phone.

and yes I know you can get siriusxm online now but that's also an additional charge. At least it is in Canada. Why would I pay a monthly access fee for one of the cars and then pay again for the online feed? Especially when they make you pay a monthly radio fee for every online account, so you end up paying for two radios and two online subscriptions just to get siriusxm in enough spots to somewhat justify having it. What a dumb model. No wonder Howards makes so much money. Siriusxm will die the moment he leaves the air.
