    First post.
It's been a while since I've owned a Toyota Truck.
I have had Tacoma's, Tundra's, Pre Runner's, Forerunners, all the way back to my first,
a little no frills 1982 4 speed, no air, no bumper "1 at this price" starter truck.

I have a small fleet of GMC's for my business, 2500's and 3500's.
I've decided I need a half ton to drive to the beach with the dog's. It's got to fit in a smallish carport hence the Tacoma vs a Tundra. I'm bringing home a SR5 access cab on Wednesday. I'm upgrading the wheels and tires to 17" Machined Contrast Alloy Wheels.
I'm looking at a Snug Top cap with a sliding front window to match the cabs rear sliding window
so we can visit with the dogs during the drive.

My question is how much wind and noise can I expect between the cab and the cap?
Does anyone make a boot to isolate this space?

    Thanks for your help.

    Bob

I've had caps on the last two trucks I've owned, including my Tacoma (I did sell it a couple years ago).

I've never noticed any additional wind noise in the gap between the truck can and cap.

It sounds like he is planning to have both the cab and topper windows open while driving. Way back I remember seeing an inflatable seal to go between. Now maybe some type of thick foam seal?

I just saw an inflatable boot about the size of the windows. Just can't remember where. In my teenage days there was a bigger boot that would allow you to remove both windows and have a large pass-through. Not sure you can still find them.

    Oh right....sorry.

I'd be concerned with a boot possible wearing the paint off on the cab (or both cab and cap) as the bed & cap move/flex.

    Hopefully the dogs are crated.
