Question about making a logo/icon

I am the director of a school and in 2014 we had a person make a new digital logo for us. I have been trying to use it to make larger prints like banners, wraps for vehicles, etc. and companies keep telling me they need a bigger file in a different format. Apparently, mine is a JPG and is 776x307. Everyone wants at least a 1024x1024 in PSD or AI.

How the heck do I do this? The person who created it 5 years ago is nowhere to be found. Who do I go to? Can I do it myself online? Please advise.

 

You need to go to the person who created it and ask them for the workable file.

Or have them send you a print quality pdf that matches the dimensions.

But definitely ask the artist to send you the original workable files. Or at minimum a pdf with vector editing capabilities.

 

It's low resolution. It'll only get blurry or pixelated if blown up.

 

I could remake the logo for you as well, but for commission of course.

 

That's the problem...I can't get ahold of them. It was a single person (not a company) who did it and they seem to have moved out of state?

I have already completed the job for the gentleman and have provide a vector file as well so hopefully no more future woes!

 

Yep. Used it several times. Even had some 4'x8' signs made. Worked great. No issues. Thanks.
