    2020 Tacoma TRD Sport
    Hey Everyone,

I recently purchased my first Tacoma (2020, TRD Sport 4x4, Double-Cab) just under a week ago. I'm originally a Ford guy and am finally moving along from my '02, Ford Explorer Sport Trac which has been inherited by my (soon to be) 15 year old son.

Disappointed with the mid-size truck offerings from the domestic "big three", I've been been building my own Tacoma online and salivating over the possibilities for the past two years. I finally pulled the trigger last week on one at my local dealership. This isn't my first Toyota, as about 7 years ago when my wife was insisting on a mini-van to haul our three kids around, I heavily researched the different mini-van options for at least a year. In early 2014, I relented and said "fine, if we must have a mini-van, then it has to be the coolest damn mini-van out there" (if there is such a thing). In March 2014, we got our Swagger Wagon (Sienna SE), which (for me) is about as cool as a mini-van can get. I quickly fell in love with our Sienna, and naturally gravitated toward Toyota when I began thinking of replacing my aging Ford Sport Trac. And that...is how I ended up with my 2020 TRD Sport.

My truck came with no steps, so I'm presently researching different nerf bar options and looking for something that doesn't hang too low, but rather hugs tight to the contour of the rocker panel (similar to OEM bars). Yes, looks supercede functionality although they need to retain some usefulness. Please feel free to suggest any aftermarket options which you recommend.

I'm thrilled to finally have my Tacoma and look forward to a long future with her! Cheers!

I too, have moved from Ford and just got my first Toyota truck last week.
I really wanted a Ridgeline because I love my Pilot, but needed a 6 foot box for some camping options.
I have a few work trucks, Ford and Ram.
The biggest thing that turned me off of the many Fords I have owned is that antiquated and horrible SYNC system. They work ok for about 2 years and then crap out.
I wasn't about to spend Ford $$$ just to be frustrated.
The Tacoma will fit better in the house garage where it will be most of the winter also.

Same here @Badam12. I just bought my first Toyota last week and got the TRD Sport DCLB in black. I love it and looking forward to lifting it and throwing some OR tires.

I have wanted a Tacoma for years but family needs first. Now with 3 teens driving I get what I want.

Take a look around on the tw buy/sell and fb marketplace for oem steps. A lot of people are selling them for great prices, many like the predator steps you can find in the $200s.
