Hi, I am a new 2016 Tacoma Limited owner, so I don't know much about it. However, I have an oil leak that I can't find where (fan has blown it everywhere). I first noticed that the truck is leaking on the driver side. I first saw it, I was hoping it was just water, but when I remove the skid plate, it has a lot of liquid in it already. I noticed two things:

    1. My power steering fluid reservoir is way overfilled, and there is clear sign of it spilling out fluids. I swear it wasn't overfilled when I bought the car just three months ago. I carefully checked all fluids, I would definite noticed this. Does anyone know how it can get overfilled with a leak?

    2. I also found a lot of oil marks surrounding the power steering pump.

So I cleaned everywhere with Carb Cleaner. After just a few days driving, I found liquid is dripping down again and a big puddle of liquid (pinkish color) in the skid plate (looking from the top). But I didn't find any oil mark from the reservoir or the pump? I also found that it seems to me at least there is no oil mark on the transmission (the leak is far enough forward; in front of the oil pan). Can I rule out of transmission leak?

    Please help! Thanks a lot!

    Hank

Is it a known 3rd gen tacoma common issue to have power steering leaks?

Check the hose on tip of the front differential. Mine came loose after I got new gears and it leaked similarly. It is hard to see, you have to get your head up there with a light, but can be fixed by hand.
