Meant to say "give up on gig work"; We're talking about DoorDash and Uber here...

I've gotten fed up with DoorDash in the last couple of months...

 

I’m driving for LYFT about 40-50 hours aweek. Money isn’t that bad for doing gig work.

 

The biggest problem with DoorDash in Doylestown and the surrounding area is that the market has been saturated; There are too many drivers and not enough deliveries! My acceptance rate has dropped below 60% because I get so many orders with a payout of less than four dollars, and I decline them all!

 

I drove for uber part time a few years back when i was bored, mostly on Thursdays since everyone would go out. It isn't overly difficult whatsoever, and everyone has their idea on what acceptable to good money is, Uber is not one of those last time i looked. However i have a new Accord and am so behind on miles I've thought about reactivation of my account when people start going out again for something to do.

After almost a year out of the game, I'm going dashing tonight! Things have been slow at work for numerous reasons, and I need to supplement my income if I want to buy a house in this lifetime!

 

Due to COVID, my hours at my day job have not increased like I hope they would. I could take a part-time job in retail and only work on the days I don't work at my primary job, but I have another Aspie friend who's currently working at a grocery store to make ends meet and the one thing he does not like is the unpredictability of his work schedule. It's a different schedule every week. On top of that, there's the increased risk of getting COVID, especially at a place like a grocery store where they have a pharmacy.

My current job has me working eight hours a day for three days a week, with no weekends. I do not want to commit to a job where I might have to give up those coveted Fridays and Saturdays, so DoorDash with the ability to make your own hours seems like the logical choice. Nothing's wrong with making money and getting out of the house to clear your mind; DoorDash allows you to both at the same time!
